![]() Tbh, I still don't quite understand your usecases for pure linux stuff, type of work you're doing, which version of WSL are you using etc. If you only need the commands then yes, realistically Git bash should be enough. Visual Studio can open projects located inside WSL2 (but I still build linux binaries separately with cli). VSCode catches it all fine while running natively. As a matter of fact, I try to keep all dev stuff in there in the first place. I keep everything Linux-only and don't duplicate anything windows side. ![]() Is it even worth having Ubuntu installed? What is the advantage? Since even Git Bash seems to support all UNIX commands I'm not an experienced developer, so it's hard for me to understand how should I go about those things? Maybe, working in WSL Ubuntu is fine and I don't really need to have everything installed in Windows, since even VS Code can adjust for WSL and Ubuntu terminal? Idk. Also I like a lot this feature, when you right click in any folder and you can "Open Terminal here". I've been also thinking about using Git Bash, since it shares Windows PATH and supports unix commands. So I got used to its terminal and its commands. Now I returned back to Windows, since I can't live without some apps, that linux doesn't support. So in fact I have to install everything twice and match versions, on both Windows and this Ubuntu, that's very inconvenient. Since IT DOESN'T SHARE the same PATH with Windows. I though that's going to be an option, but I'm a little bit disappointed. I just want one terminal for everything.Ĭmd is not an option for sure, it doesn't support UNIX commands. I'm really confused which terminal to use.
